Brush Pick-up Program  To be determined for April 2019

Each spring and fall the City sponsors a street-side brush pick-up program. The purpose of this program is to remove brush that is too large to be removed as part of the weekly yard waste-composting program.

Brush is required to be placed by the curbside, neatly stacked, with the large ends towards the street. Brush between 2" and 8" in diameter is accepted. Shrubs with roots still attached are not accepted. The City asks that you leave brush in as large of pieces as possible so that it can be safely fed into the brush chipper by City employees.

Fall Leaf Pick-up Program message from the City Administrator:

With the recent snowfall making leaf collection very difficult, the DPS crews have gotten a little behind schedule.

For the upcoming next few days the DPS will be out collecting the leaves they can get to. If they do not get your leaves initially, please be patient.

With rain and warmer weather in the forecast for the weekend the City staff should be able to make good progress after that.

The crews will be out working through the weekend and the early part of next week. The City is committed to trying to clean up all the leaves that have been raked out to the street over the next several days.

To track the leaf collection progress the City will be posting a map in our website and Facebook page.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact City Hall (517) 669-2441

Sincerely,

Daniel Coss
City Adminstrator

Each fall the City conducts a citywide leaf pick-up program. Leaves are to be placed un-bagged at the street side by 7:00 a.m. on each Monday. Items such as garden trash, lake leaves, boards, sticks, rocks and other items that would prevent the leaf vacuum from easily sucking up leaves cannot be placed in the leaf piles. Due to safety concerns, leaves are prohibited from being placed in the street. Do not rake leaves into ditch. All leaves must be placed on the street edge and reachable by the City leaf vacuum. Bagged leaves will not be removed.

REMINDER* LEAF BURNING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
